Dingle vs. Galway

  • How do Dingle and Galway compare?

Both places are great and colorful but in very different ways! Galway is alive with movement, there’s a lot of students because there’s a college located there, which means a lot of partying. Dingle is quieter, still touristic but it’s smaller and has more local shops and traditional musicians.

  • Which town has better live music

Galway has more variety and volume, you’ll hear from every genre in one evening. But Dingle’s music is older, traditional, often sung in Gaelic (indigenous Irish language).

  • Which town is better

I wouldn’t say there’s a better town, it depends on what you prefer. If you like a place that perfectly captures traditional Irish culture, Diggle is the town for you. If you want to have fun like the Irish and you like the loud and busy cities, Galaway is better.

The Irish Pub Experience

  • What makes an Irish pub different from anywhere else?

It’s not just about Guinness. An Irish pub has such a unique atmosphere, it’s relaxed and friendly, it’s like a living room for the whole town.

  • Is live music really that common?

In the authentic ones? Yes absolutely, but not like a stage show. Sometimes, someone sings an old ballad in the corner with their guitar, but sometimes the musicians are sitting among us with their fiddle and their flutes.

  • How do you find the best pub?

My best tip would be to look for the ones in villages that are less touristic. To find the best pub don’t go to a spot you saw on social media, go where the locals go! An overcrowded pud isn’t fun. If you can hear some traditional music through the door it’s even better.

Why the Kerry Cliffs Stole My Heart (Sorry, Moher)

  • How do the Kerry Cliffs compare to the Cliffs of Moher?

While the Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland’s most popular attractions, to me, the Kerry Cliffs are truly an Irish treasure. Towering just as high, with cliffs rising over 1,000 feet, the Kerry Cliffs are way less crowded than Moher.

  • Why are the Kerry Cliffs more worth it?

Both are beautiful sights, but the Kerry Cliffs offer panoramic views of the Skellig Islands that are in my opinion more breathtaking than the Moher Cliffs. Also the fact that there’s less people makes the experience more intimate.

  • Can they really replace the Moher experience?

Even if I prefer the Kerry Cliffs, I had a great experience for both. They each have their charm, they’re simply different. Moher is not popular for nothing, it’s an iconic point of view. Kerry is more of a hidden gem.
